The sequel introduces a new character, Effie. She was not mentioned in the first movie. Her presence forces the four main characters to bond in the third act. Although she is important in the story, she feels forced into the film. Her presence largely serves to force the four girls to come together in the third act. Despite her presence, Effie is not given a lot of screen time and hardly gets a chance to speak.

After the events of the first film, Carmen goes on a date with Porter. Although he’s interested in her, he gets tired of being manipulated by Carmen. When she takes Lena and Paul to her last date with Porter, she notices Paul’s attraction to Lena and encourages her to go after him.
